Supporting Project Waterfall
From 13th to 19th October 2025, Insomnia Coffee is proud to take part in UK Coffee Week, the nation’s biggest celebration of coffee and community. This annual event brings together coffee shops, roasters, and coffee lovers across the UK to raise funds for Project Waterfall, a charity dedicated to bringing clean drinking water, sanitation, and education to coffee-growing communities around the world.
During UK Coffee Week, Insomnia Coffee will donate 5 pence from every hot beverage sold to support Project Waterfall’s life-changing work.
Globally, 703 million people lack access to clean water, many of them living in remote, rural areas where coffee is grown. Coffee is a water-intensive crop, yet the farmers behind it often face severe water scarcity. Project Waterfall exists to correct this imbalance by reinvesting in these communities through sustainable water projects.
Since its launch in 2011, UK Coffee Week has raised over £1 million, helping more than 50,000 people gain access to safe drinking water, dignified toilets, and education.
Access to clean water doesn’t just improve health—it transforms lives. With safe water, coffee-growing communities experience economic growth through increased productivity and new job opportunities created by water infrastructure projects. These systems are built with climate resilience in mind, ensuring long-term access to clean water despite environmental changes. Crucially, gender equality also improves: women no longer need to spend hours collecting water and can instead pursue education and economic opportunities, helping lift their families out of poverty. Every cup of coffee sold during UK Coffee Week helps make this impact possible.
Throughout the week, our UK outlets will be fundraising by donating 5 pence from every cup of coffee served - We hope to see you around in one of our stores and that your coffee matters this week!
