We’re thrilled to announce that Insomnia has been shortlisted as one of 2018 finalists in the Waste Prevention Business Award category for the Pakman Awards this year!
This is Insomnia’s first time entering the Pakman Awards and we’re also in with the chance of winning your category and being Ireland’s overall winner of the Pakman Awards 2018 for Excellence in Waste Management and Recycling.
With the launch of Mission Compostable, Insomnia made a significant investment and have taken a strategic approach to reduce waste and the impact on the environment with an integrated instore sustainability programme which will, by 2020, will divert 15 million takeaway coffee cups and 20 million single use items such as plastic straws, plastic cups and plastic cutlery from landfill.
The awards ceremony will take place in a black-tie event on the night of Thursday 25th October in the Intercontinental Hotel in Ballsbridge, Dublin.
The Pakman Awards is now in its fourth year and seeks to find and celebrate Ireland’s recycling and waste management champions in 2018. The Pakman Awards recognise excellence in waste management and recycling among businesses, organisations and community groups in Ireland.
Seamus Clancy, Chief Executive of Repak, commented: “A Pakman Award is an excellent way for any business to demonstrate its green credentials and is a significant accolade for any organisation. More than ever, the environment and sustainability are being discussed at all levels around the world. A Pakman Award shows leadership within this area and demonstrates to your customers, clients and colleagues that you are committed to a sustainable future for Ireland.”
